Clinically proven, safe and effective

The Ellipse I2PL treatment offers clinically proven treatment (technique is called “selective photothermolysis”) for sun-damaged skin, covering both vascular and pigmented aspects. The visible light produced by the Ellipse I2PL system is carefully controlled to produce the correct pulse length and right amount of energy to destroy the target area without damaging surrounding tissue, thus removing pigmentation, diffused redness and leaves the skin feeling smoother and more even in texture.

The Ellipse I2PL photo rejuvenation treatment will additionally treat larger telangiectasias (individually visible vessels). Photo rejuvenation is a quick and simple treatment that does not interfere with your normal daily routine, repairing sun-damage found on the face, neck, chest and hands.

Treatment regime:

A full-face treatment should take approximately 20 minutes and the skin will look rejuvenated after 1-3 treatments, depending on the severity of treatment required.

bnr-sun-damageFrequently Asked Questions

How does Ellipse Skin Rejuvenation work?

The light is carefully filtered to be attracted to the excess melanin in the skin and the diffuse redness. When the cells containing a lot of melanin or haemoglobin are hit with the right type of light, they are heated up and are destroyed within a few thousandths of a second.

Who can be treated?

As skin rejuvenation is based on light absorption in melanin and haemoglobin, treatments are most efficient in patients with light skins and who are not sun-tanned at the time of the treatment. The greater the contrast between the skin and the pigmented area the more effective the results will be.

Does Ellipse Skin Rejuvenation hurt?

Tolerance of pain is very individual from person to person. Most patients describe the feeling similar to that of the “tingling of sunburn”.

Do I need to take special precautions before and after a treatment?

It is important to avoid tanning (sun, sunbed, fake tan) before and during the treatment period. If not, your skin will absorb more light, which makes the treatment less effective. Generally no post-treatment care is necessary, but patients with sensitive skin may benefit from applying soothing aloe vera gel. Furthermore, it is recommended to use a SPF 30+ daily.

What results can I expect?

You may notice that the skin or excess pigment looks a little “dirty” for about 7-10 day after the treatment. Once you have completed this period the skin will look smoother and fresher and feel like silk.

How can I be sure Ellipse Skin Rejuvenation is safe and effective?

Clinical trials documenting Ellipse’s safety and effectiveness were carried out by leading doctors prior to the launch of the treatment and these were published in respected, referenced medical journals. You are welcome to view these scientific papers on the Ellipse website at www.ellipse.com. We are also approved Ellipse IPL specialists having undergone IPL training.

How much does a Skin Rejuvenation Treatment Cost?

The cost of the Ellipse IPL Skin Rejuvenation treatment is dependent on the area treated. Generally prices start from £100 per session. Please do not hesitate to contact the clinic for more pricing options: info @ thelondoncosmeticclinic.co.uk.

How does the Ellipse I2PL photo rejuvenation treatment work?

The Ellipse I2PL treatment works by directing well-controlled pulses of light into the upper skin layer. The light is absorbed by two of the body’s own natural chemicals: melanin in the pigmented areas and haemoglobin in the red blood cells. Both these pigments convert the light energy into heat. This heat is used to destroy the parts of the cells in which the melanin is stored, and to damage the walls of the vessels supplying blood to the areas where vascular damage is seen. This technique is called “Selective Photothermolysis”.

The visible light produced by the Ellipse I2PL system is carefully controlled to produce the correct pulse length and right amount of energy to destroy the targets without damaging surrounding tissue.
